8. The Blair Witch Project
Seeing this around Halloween or on it, is a no-brainer. It’s set in October, it engenders a genuine sense of fear and panic in its actors, it features the supernatural, and it’s documentary type feel fooled some of the world when it came out. When I first saw it initially, I didn’t think it all that scary until I found myself watching it alone in a cabin in the woods. Then, its impact finally hit me. Any little strange sound made me a little uneasy and sleeping in near total darkness at night didn’t help. Seeing it now, it still stands up pretty well and is definitely far more anxiety inducing than some other films. The Blair Witch Project and Halloween almost seem synonymous. So, why wouldn’t you see it on that night?
